  2. I was fortunate enough to live at home with my parents and have a paid off car while in college. I paid off the interest while in college, and saved up $366 per month until graduation. Even though I had all of the money saved and ready to be given back to the lender, I chose to make large installment payments out of that savings just to at least benefit my credit score. I wasn't about to give then lender $22K in full. But I paid it off within three years. To hell with debt. The thought of it stresses me out.

  10. repayment plans suck, but sometimes it may be the only way.

Btw, Nurses qualify for student loan forgiveness ( thank god) but you have to enter some sort of repayment plan for x amount of time before they are forgiven.

  14. You forgot to mention for #3 If you refinance and consolidate your loans. You would lose many government Benefits with your loan. I think its Important that people know they won't be able to use special Government programs (like Debt forgiveness)if you switch to a private Bank.

  49. I'm so happy you made this! This is very important because Student Loans are nothing to play with! I took out three loans. I just paid one off completely and I have another loan that will be paid offer in May. The third one will be paid off later this year. I was paying much more than they asked and it was well worth it! This has a huge impact on your credit and way of life! 👏🏿🙌🏿🤓
