I watched this when it first came out and have just rewatched it again now, since I've recently become a single mum! I would love to see a video from you regarding how you balance your work/family/social life etc. my kids are still so young so I'm struggling immensely making work decisions which affect time with my kids 😁. Would love to hear from anyone else with advice on the topic also X

Get your income up. Write down 1. Gross income. 2. Net income after taxes. 3. Budget. 4. Investments. 5. Net worth. Save $1,000 per month. If you can't get more education, more skills, cut expenses. Get a room mate to cut costs in half. If you can do this, you will get ahead. Health is number one. Community number two. Money number three. Money happiness peaks at $75,000 a year and $750,000 net worth, per person. After I hit $750,000 net worth I could coast and live free and happy. The secret is SAVE $30 a day. That's all there is too it. NEVER use a credit card balance. Can't save, you will retire broke and miserable. Good luck to us all.

Thanks for this video. It's so brilliant to have a video talking about the reality of finances and being a single parent. There's so little around about it, and certainly not from someone living it! I've been much more conscious of budgeting, saving, super, etc since I've been solo and really proud of how I've done. I'Ill keep watching your videos. More about single parents, please!! Thanks a bunch!
Replyyvettemadelaine March 15, 2017 1:08 am

Is it smart to rely on employment provided life insurance and AD&D insurance or should you have an individual policy in addition to those provided?

Looking forward to your lifestyle videos. You are so classy with so much style! Your house always looks super cool in your videos. Actually, if you weren't doing this, you could make it as a movie star. You got that movie star look. What you're doing for your son is great! He's so lucky to have you as his mom. Love your channel!

I am finding your videos to be very useful, thank you so much. I am also a single mum – of two children. I subscribed to your website and have sent you an email, asking for the family budget, but not sure how to receive it? Also, there does not appear to be a subscribers' area on the website. Could you please help?

Hi Canna,
ReplyWhich would you suggest I do first – pay off my HECS or put the money aside and start investing? I've watched all of your videos and from what I can gather, getting rid of the debt is more important. But you also talk about the importance of investing so I'm a bit unsure!

Your a great great role model for me, my mom was a foster child in Canada from France so money has always been so glam to me and I had more lingerie than the things I actually needed. Thank you for your down to earth real life inspiration on money management, it is priceless! I'm sure you make a great mom! Just always have your heart open and just always be there even though there might be nothing you can do. Thxoxo!
