  3. My husband and I are being relocated from London to the DFW area by his company. They'll be providing us with housing for a few months, but after that we would like to buy a house. We're a bit worried about getting a mortgage, though. Our situation is:

-I am American with a good US credit score, but have been living in Europe for over 4 years. I will not have a job (at least initially) when we move.
-My husband is British with a good UK credit score but no US credit score. His company (who he has been with for over 3 years) will be paying for the move, and he will have a good income from the start.
-We will have a minimum of a 25% deposit

Would we be able to get a mortgage in the US? What information would we need? If we have to, we can get one through our UK bank, but the rates on international mortgages are pretty poor.

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks for your help!

  4. Hello…long time since I have been doing loans. My hubby and I wish to move to Tucson and lease our home in Texas.

We are both on SSI and my hubby has a pension. Our home will show some loss but I understand that depreciation is still added back in.

We have almost 800 credit scores and I plan on working part time just to have something to do. So at what time point will a lender allow us to offset the mortgage payment with the rental? One year…two year tax returns? We will have a real estate property manager so everything will be on the up and up and a CPA.

The thought of renting on the other end for a long time is not real appealing and we wish to purchase as soon as possible. Any thoughts?

    Thanks so much

  10. OK here is the situation… Current mortgage on primary home is in a Loan Mod. Current owner wants to Short Sale this home because it is under water. I assume home owner cannot Short Sale existing property and buy a new home FHA (assuming they can Short Sale the property) right away?

Mortgage in question is in husband's name only.

Can WIFE (if she qualifies income & credit) buy the new home on her own? She IS on title to the home.
And let's assume the current lender will allow them to Short Sale the property.

They were married when they bought this home 8 years ago. The owner only owns this 1 home.

If you could respond to the above I would appreciate it.

  15. I bought a home as my primary residence for 235,000 in May 2012. Currently the home is worth about 285,000 and have 220,000 on the mortgage which is FHA. We are moving to a new home as our primary residence and were initially planning on selling the old home for a down payment on the new home. I am considering keeping the old home and renting it out, and taking out a second mortgage on the old home for the down payment on the new home. Can I do this or is there something I'm missing?

  16. My husband was let go from a local TX truck driving job that paid hourly, so in order to support our family, he took an over the road truck driving job out of Texas that pays by the mile. He is a company driver, W2 employee, but since it is paid by the mile rather than hourly, what are our chances of getting a loan?
